Our Story
Irish Seaweed Consultancy Ltd. is a female-led company based in the West of Ireland since 2013. We formed the company to use our scientific knowledge of seaweed to help the European seaweed industry develop and grow.
Our work focuses on private projects with our commercial clients, however we also regularly participate in publically funded research projects, maintaining a strong network across Europe. Check out our past projects where you can find our most recent publications.
Anna
Anna is a proud Mediterranean from Catalonia who inexplicably managed to adapt to the cold Irish climate. She specialises in nutritional composition of seaweeds as well as the cultivation of novel seaweeds. Her complete publication list can be found here.
Maeve
Maeve also specialises in seaweed cultivation and likes to figure out how her research can contribute to large-scale sustainable production. She enjoys mapping and fieldwork which comes in handy for work on algal bioresource managment. Her complete publication list can be found here
Susan
Susan is a veteran aquaculturist on both sides of the equator, now taking a whole new group of species in her stride. She's getting right under the sorus of Palmaria, is well on her way to her first algal publication and is a ray of sunshine to boot-lucky us!
