General Data Protection Regulation: Data Protection Policy Privacy Notice
The new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is active from 25 May 2018. This supersedes the UK Data Protection Act (1988). By law we must ask you for your clear, unambiguous consent before we can email you or use or share your data in any other way.
Who we are
Irish Seaweed Consultancy Ltd. (hereafter, “ISC”) is a Controller of Data for the purpose of the GDPR. The ISC website address is http://www.irishseaweed.com.
We collect personal data from website visitors who make a request for information from the contact form page (http://www.irishseaweed.com/contact.html). This includes the following:
• Personal details including:
o First name and last name
o Email address
• Further personal information including:
o Request information forming the subject/content of the query
Dr. Maeve Edwards is the designated Data Protection Officer and Data Processing Officer in the ISC, and holds these client records on a secure, password-protected computer for the minimum required time it takes to respond to a query before the data is deleted (1-5 days). No further personal data is collected, stored or used.
We use your personal data for the purpose of communicating with you regarding your query and do not and will not disclose any information about you or your query to additional third parties other than those we are legally obliged to do so, or where we need to comply with our contractual duties to you.
Legal Basis for Processing your Data
The legal basis for processing your data will be Consent: in making a request for information or becoming a client of ISC you have given your consent for us to process your personal data for the specific purpose of informing you of:
1. Specific products and services as per your request.
ISC may sometimes need to process your data to pursue legitimate interests. These may include fraud prevention, administrative purposes, reporting potential crimes.
Your Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have a number of rights with regard to your personal data. You have the right to request from us access to and the editing or erasure of your personal data (the right to be forgotten). You also have the right to restrict processing, object to processing as well as in certain circumstances the right to data portability.
If you have provided consent for the processing of your data you have the right (in certain circumstances) to withdraw that consent at any time, which will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before your consent was withdrawn. You have the right to lodge a complaint to the Information Commissioners’ Office if you believe that we have not complied with the requirements of the GDPR with regard to your personal data.
